Remember Me is a celebration of coming home, a series of six small, playful figurative paintings that tell a story about where I come from.
The cup the series is titled after belonged to my great grandmother and I think it is my favorite in the series. There’s something poignant about a china cup that asks to be remembered.
Some of the subjects are unique to me, like the cup and the kitchen playset. Others are ubiquitous to outport Newfoundland, like ski-doos, meatballs, and a fish tub painted Seal Flippers. They all ask the same thing—to be remembered.
